Piper R Caird was born in Dundee and has been playing the highland bagpipes for over 40 years, having first learnt his trade at Trinity College, Glenalmond near Perth in Scotland.
His pipes have featured on BBC Radio Suffolk and he has played at events as far afield as St. Petersburg, Florida, USA. He regularly performs at weddings, birthdays, Burns Nights, funerals, village fetes, sporting events, balls and has even piped at Norwich airport! He also teaches elementary piping to private pupils and at a local school.
Piper R Caird plays a fine set of 1960s Peter Henderson blackwood and ivory pipes and a Strathmore chanter, with a black velvet bag cover and red (or black) ribbons. He normally wears a full evening dress kilt outfit with Prince Charlie jacket, Glengarry and red feather hackle. He can do a more informal day kilt outfit (or indeed casual wear) and also No 1 uniform if required. He generally wears Black Watch tartan but can often accommodate special requests for particular colours.
Based in Suffolk in the United Kingdom, Piper R Caird can travel anywhere in East Anglia or the surrounding area.
